Streets will be hopping for closing ceremonies!

The Downtown Orangeville BIA will be hosting the 39th Annual Founders’ Fair celebration on Friday, July 11th and Saturday, July 12th in the downtown area.

The event will close in style with an old-fashioned street dance on Broadway, featuring performances by the Brokenjoe Trio and the Campfire Poets.

The streets will be rocking at the Broadway Grande Main Stage on Saturday night from 7:00pm to 10:00pm as the Brokenjoe Trio entertain the crowd. With a unique blend of original and traditional material, Brokenjoe conveys a ‘sitting around the kitchen table’ feel with a relaxed and friendly looseness. Whether it’s an old time ballad or an up-tempo original, Brokenjoe brings a healthy does of humour and an energetic performance. And what makes this acoustic trio unique is that nobody plays the drums!

At the Meridian Stage (First Street and Broadway) the Campfire Poets will be performing from 7:00pm to 10:00 pm and will entertain the crowd with five decades of upbeat party songs, great musicianship and a whole lot of fun! With classics like “Brown Eyed Girl” and “Mustang Sally” to modern classics like “What I Got” and “Home for a Rest”, it’s no wonder crowds love them! Their repertoire includes selections from Credence Clearwater Revival, Steve Miller, Big Sugar, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blue Rodeo, Eric Clapton, Great Big Sea, Bob Marley, Muddy Waters, ZZ Top, U2, Spirit of the West, Willie Nelson, Sam Roberts, Pink Floyd, Tragically Hip, Bedouin Soundclash and more.

The night sky will provide the perfect backdrop as A Different Spin entertains with their evening fire show at Mill Street and Broadway, and Mill Street’s Family Fun Zone will remain open throughout the evening to entertain the youngsters. On Broadway, Rory the Gnome will be strolling the streets and will be happy to make you a balloon character, or stop by the Information canopy across from the Broadway Grande Main Stage to get a caricature sketch from “Caroline’s Caricatures”.

Bring a lawn chair and take to the streets to soak up the festive community atmosphere and warm summer breezes at Downtown Orangeville’s 39th Annual Founders’ Fair. Starry skies, family fun, great music, neighbours and friends in the heart of Downtown Orangeville – what more could you want on a summer weekend in Ontario!
