Winter has arrived in the Hills of Headwaters
Mother Nature has ushered in winter with a vengeance here in the Hills of Headwaters covering our landscape and sidewalks with a soft blanket of snow. And while there’s something very magical about the holiday season, there’s nothing more magical than a white Christmas in the country.
Come stroll our heritage towns and villages where lamp posts are adorned with wreaths and boughs, snow covers the sidewalks and the smells of Christmas drift from the doors of our fine shopping establishments. Enjoy a fireside lunch or dinner at a country restaurant, many offering special holiday menus and brunches. Then top-off the evening with live professional theatre at Theatre Orangeville’s The Giant’s Garden running until December 23rd.
A white Christmas also means good fun for skiers & boarders who can take advantage of the holiday packages being offered at Hockley Valley Resort and Mansfield Ski Club. Wow! Where did you get that Canadian Diamond?
Sunday December 9th at Gallery Gemma Jewellery Art, in the historic Alton Mill, one of the world’s best diamond polishers will demonstrate the art & science of polishing diamonds.
Mike Botha, master diamond cutter, created the award winning “Diamond Training Program” at Aurora College in Yellowknife as well as patenting two diamond cuts. He was also recruited to cut the largest gems ever cut and polished in Canada.
Mike is a partner in the Canadian Diamond Academy, a joint-venture with the Muskoday First Nations in Saskatchewan. The academy has been established to offer the incomparable quality and the highest standards for training in diamond processing.
