Christmas in the Country
There’s something very magical about the holiday season, and there’s nothing more magical than experiencing the warmth and charm of a country Christmas.
Instead of heading for the nearest city mall for holiday shopping, spend a day in the Hills of Headwaters where you’ll find unique items and wonderful gift selections stocked by local merchants in our heritage towns and villages. Shopping in the Hills of Headwaters offers a stress-free, old fashioned solution to Christmas. You can take the pace a little slower and enjoy your surroundings.
In between the shops you visit, there are a multitude of cafes and quaint General Stores for you to rest and rejuvenate with a cup of coffee and a bagel or lovely restaurants where you can indulge in something a little more substantial.
Once the shopping is done and you are ready for the tree cutting, visit one of the local tree farms where you can not only pick out the type and size of tree you like, but also treat yourself to a horse or tractor drawn wagon ride and a cup of cocoa by the roaring campfire.
Looking for a holiday getaway? How about an overnight stay at a cozy bed and breakfast, country inn or world-class resort, each ready to accommodate your every need with warm country hospitality?
Enjoy the magic of the season with a visit to the Hills of Headwaters, and experience the warmth and charm of a country Christmas!

It's True! One99 Restaurant is Now Open for Lunch!
We’re open for lunch Monday thru Friday 11:30 to 2pm. We’ve listened to you our customers and we are excited about providing a sumptuous lunch venue for you. After 5 years of serving dinner only, we’ve decided to open for lunch. Perfect for business, friends, special days… and who really needs a reason for lunch anyway?
What makes us unique?
Our menu of course. When it comes to menus, Chef Patrick Venables is second to none and these are some of the strategies used, when creating the lunch menu:
- What original, signature dishes could we create?
- What new melding of flavours could we concoct to excite customers and keep them coming back?
- What creations could we make fresh and timely?
- How could we provide ultimate value for the customer?

All Kinds of Care For All Kinds of Pets!
T'is The Season To Be Naughty!
Tinsel, festive ornaments, baked goods and mistletoe are signs that Christmas is approaching but they are also among some of the many hazards the holidays can bring pets.
Common Christmas hazards include chocolate, bones, tinsel and plants. Chocolate which contains caffeine and theobromine can be toxic in high amounts. Ribbons, tinsel or turkey bones can get caught up in the intestines and cause obstruction. Poinsettias, Mistletoe and Holly can cause a variety of symptoms such as vomiting, nausea and cardiovascular problems. Holly can cause vomiting, nausea, diarrhea and lethargy. Christmas tree water may contain fertilizers, which if ingested can cause stomach upset. Stagnant water can be breeding grounds for bacteria, which can also lead to vomiting, nausea and diarrhea. So keep your eyes on your furry friends!
Dr.Hooper, Dr. Soligo and the staff of Glendale Veterinary Hospital would like to wish clients and their furry families a Safe and Happy Christmas.
