Headwaters Parade of Horses Receives the 2015 Creative Cultural Event Award

On September 24, 2015, arts and culture was celebrated at the Town of Orangeville’s sixth annual Mayor’s Breakfast for the Arts, with the announcement of the 2015 Arts and Culture Award winners. The Headwaters Parade of Horses was awarded the 2015 Creative Cultural Event Award at the event which took place at the Tony Rose Memorial Sports Centre Banquet Hall and serves as a kick-off for the Culture Days celebration in Orangeville.

The Creative Cultural Event Award honours an exhibit, performance, benefit, festival, series or special event which brought heightened visibility to the arts and provided the community with a quality artistic event.

“We are honoured to accept the award on behalf of the Headwaters Parade of Horses artists”, said Ross Millar, Chair of the Headwaters Equine Leadership Group. “This amazing group of 40 talented artisans willingly donated their time, inspiration and creativity to bring this project to life, as a legacy to the equestrian events of the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games that were hosted in Headwaters this past summer. This initiative came to life because of their commitment.”

“We would also like to thank the generous patrons who purchased the statues and our sponsors who donated their time and resources, including Home Hardware Stores Ltd., Orangeville Home Hardware Building Centre, Taylor Truck Training, Town of Caledon & Versatile Spray Painting Ltd.”
