Mark your calendars for our next celebration of Headwaters flavour:
The Pan Am Taste Trail
Saturday, June 13 – Saturday, August 15, 2015.
Fresh from Headwaters!
This is Headwaters, part of the Greenbelt… our living countryside.
Here you can plant your bare feet on the earth. And when you dine the greens in your salad were picked this morning… the vegetables are from that farm over there… the berries in dessert grow wild along the fence lines.
The bounty of the harvest is evident everywhere in Headwaters! Visit our farm markets, our gourmet food shops and our world-class eateries and experience food as it was meant to be – fresh from the source and directly to your plate. Talk to our shop owners, chefs and your overnight hosts and you’ll soon realize that in the Hills of Headwaters ‘our living countryside’ is truly a philosophy.
Join us for a variety of culinary inspired activities where you can see, touch and taste the bounty of the land first hand — fall fairs, farm tours, culinary events and so much more – all grown in Headwaters!
If your culinary cravings are more on the creative side, you’ll want to take in the ever popular Cuisine-Art. A yearly event held at Alton Mill Arts Centre that celebrates arts, culture, local chefs, food producers, merchants, entertainers and more.
Taste of Headwaters Events
In 2014, visitors and residents celebrated some of the area’s culinary delights during our two seasonally inspired culinary events: A Taste of Maple and Taste of the Harvest. These events replaced our ever-popular Winterfeast and Summerfeast in 2014, and instead of prix-fixe menus at participating restaurants, consumers were able to partake of a variety of maple or harvest “tastes” in restaurants, bakeries, confectionaries, or at a number of regional seasonally-themed events.
Stay tuned for our upcoming events:
