Terra Cotta Conservation Area covers 250 hectares of rugged terrain on the Niagara Escarpment and includes numerous summer and winter trails, including a link to the well-known Bruce Trail. The 124 hectare Terra Cotta Forest adjoins the Conservation Area, providing a real sense of wilderness.
In January 2010, Terra Cotta Conservation Area will introduce the brand new Visitor Welcome Centre. It is at the Centre that guests can gather more information on the area, purchase snacks, bait and merchandise and rent cross-country skis and snowshoes. Modern washroom facilities will also be available.
Visitors are also invited to participate in Landscapes for Learning, a series of educational programs held in the recently-renovated Watershed Learning Centre. Interactive year-round activities range from guided hikes to wildlife drawing classes to presentations by accomplished authors and much more. All programs are open to the general public and are generally included with regular admission.
