Acoustic Traditions Music & Folklore Centre is a purveyor of fine musical instruments and a promoter of the musical arts with the focus on acoustic and folk music. We have locations in Orangeville and Fergus, Ontario.
We offer lessons in voice, theory, and the following instruments: guitar, piano, flute, saxophone, hand drums, 5 string banjo, fiddle, autoharp, mandolin. We are always looking to expand and try new things. If you are looking for lessons for an instrument not listed above, please contact us and we will try to find an instructor. At the very least, we will do our best to find a contact for private lessons. We will gladly refer to instructors outside Acoustic Traditions, especially if we feel that a particular teacher will best suit a student's needs and musical goals.
We also offer workshops. In the past we've covered a variety of topics such as handdrum instruction, harmonica, fingerstyle guitar, blues, and songwriting. If you are a musician interested in giving a workshop at Acoustic Traditions please contact us. We offer a variety of musical events such as our Wednesday night jam sessions and regular concerts. Our definition of "Folk" is very broad, encompassing most acoustic music. Located in Orangeville and Fergus, Ontario, we are home to many talented musicians. In addition to showcasing local performers, our concert series has been hosting musicians from other parts of Ontario, Canada, and beyond.
